As a Dane I turned my back to Europe

In politics on December 4, 2015 at 06:28

As part of my work I sign custom documents when my workplace sells and buys goods in other countries. So why did I vote No yesterday when Denmark turned down EU rules.

Because I have a general distrust in a police force which have any foreign employee in their force. And this Super-police Europol they were about to create would have impacted my work in a negative way.

It is not because I sell weapons or bombs to criminals. But less could send me to prison. In Denmark a man in a transport company signed the papers for some bottles of alcohol years ago. It turned out that the customer was a criminal who avoided paying taxes in both Germany and Sweden. The man in the transport company was put on trial but was aquitted in a Swedish court. Several years passed and suddenly the Germany authorities wants the man from the transport company to pay taxes in the old case. The man was aquitted!! The German authorities don’t accept it. Had we voted yes, this innocent man could have been arrested and put on a show trail in Germany in what for me resembles the old People court run by Roland Freisler.

I have to do my work. I don’t care what my vendors or my customers do with our goods. Once we sell them and are paid people can do whatever they want with our fertilizer product. I know that people can built a bomb with them if they have a lot of time but I don’t care. Our products are not intended to be used to build bombs. Our products are intended to be used by farmers so people can get food. None should expect from me that I should use every minute of my spare time to stand next to a field watching things grow so our products are used in the right way.

Once I am paid, I really don’t care.

That is why I voted No yesterday.

I really think that they should dissolve the European Union. It is a thing of the past. Demand VISA’s for every person travelling between our countries. I might take a lot longer to do the paperwork when we buy and sell things abroad. I don’t mind and we really don’t need the tourists anyway to come here to Denmark.

I hope my vote yesterday was one step forwards Denmark leaving the European Union.

I am happy today.
