When youth ayslums pay the police to not to act

In culture on September 26, 2014 at 05:39

Years ago MontanaPBS made the documentary “Who’s Watching the Kids?” about a private school called “Spring Creek Lodge” who paid the local police to be extra alert when students ran away. The patrol car and uniforms were financed by the school.

In one case the local police wouldn’t help the authorities in another state to get a girl back home so the girl could contribute to an ongoing investigation.

Thankfully Spring Creek Lodge is closed today. It didn’t do anything good for anybody.

Here in Denmark we also have such a scandal. In the case against Solhaven it is mentioned that local police officers received gifts from the now closed youth facility “Solhaven”. While the police is not finished investigating themselves they acknowledge that something was wrong.

We need to protect kids better. Only a couple of years ago a Danish therapist received 60 days of prison suspended for having sex with an underaged girl who were confined to a cottage on the orders of local social services. A girl who was in need of help was molested and the criminal got off with almost no punishment.

One thing is when employees molest children. They are often the most lowpaid people possible with no kind of relevant education making them eligible for the job, so in many cases it will turn out bad and ugly. But then the police should secure the children just as they do with other citizens. That is why it was a scandal for the state of Montana that the Thompson Falls police department was bribed. That is why it is a scandal for the state of Denmark if it turns out that the police in Aalborg was bribed.

Transgender issues

In culture on September 18, 2014 at 16:51

I believe that everyone should choose the life they want for themselves as long as they don’t force anyone to follow in their footsteps.

A transgender teenager escaped from a Connecticut treatment program and is now serving time without charges at an adult facility.

It is kind of disturbing. Maybe this teenager has a kind of medical issue if you are among those who believe that being a transgender is an illness.

But medical issues are treated at hospitals – not prisons.

Prisons are for those who break the laws and certainly for those who had their time in court. There has been no trial where this transgender teenager has been convicted.

So please release this individual if you still want to call your country a democracy!!
