In the continued investigation into problems with brought-together families and adoption in relationship with the Sofia Roberts case, I found yet another bizarre case:
Well, I am so lucky that I have been able to produce children. Not all adults in the world are that lucky. One option they have is to adopt.
What if you adopted a child believing that you were unable to produce a child only to discover years later that you suddenly have a child made of your own blood? It did happen for a couple of doctors from Poland who lived in Sweden. They adopted a boy believing that they could not have children.
When their own child then came into the world they had a surplus of children in their house. What did they then do? They returned the child they had adopted 4 years later.
The authorities ordered the adoptive parents to cover the costs for the child until the boy could be re-adopted but what about the emotional damage the boy suffered. Hopefully the boy got help and treatment to deal with the loss of his “parents”.
