Apple and their censorship of Danish novels

In culture on November 9, 2012 at 19:24

I have learned that Apple has removed the novels of Peter Øvig Knudsen from both Apple’s ibookstore and Apple’s App store and I have learned that the reason is the novel are too Danish. Danish and American culture is not very like but I believed wrongly that the Apple was a global brand aimed at all consumers in the world.

I know realize that it is not the case. I have mailed our manager for Mobil phones in our company to urge him to switch our Mobil phone purchase strategy from Apple to Android mobile phones. We work in a Danish firm and whenever a foreign firm attacks parts of our culture we will not deal with them.

I accept that they produce products offering a lot of options and in some areas they are properly leading in the world, but we Danes have our history and our values. We have previous battled the entire middle east in the cartoon war and we won, so why shouldn’t we be successful winning a battle with Apple.

The case is right now a subject being discussed in our parliament and I guess that the decision made by Apple will influence the investment strategy in the administration.

I hope that Apple would apologies but it is their decision. I will teach Danes that Apple needs to be avoided until they surrender.
