I have just learned that some country in Africa named Liberia wants a Dane extradited because they didn’t like his movie. I had to look the country up in order to find it and I considered myself very educated in matters down there due to my childhood reading of Georges Remi’s illustrated novel about a Belgian journalist travel to Africa around 1930.
This excellent work in literature taught me so much about the real-life conditions and mentality among the people down there.
Based on my knowledge the Danish authorities should deny the application for extradition but after the scandal of them approving the extradition of Camilla Broe and the humanitarian Niels Holck I don’t believe that they are doing their jobs. So it would properly as in the other cases be a matter for the courts to rule against the extradition.
Mads Brügger is an artist. In a democracy it is the job of an artist to provoke. This case clearly shows that Liberia is no place for democracy.
