What did happen in February? I found two subjects I care about.
The private parking firms was hurt in our Supreme Court
Most importantly the private parking firms known for a morale as possible claimed that they didn’t have to recognize a ruling by our supreme court.
Then they were forced to but only so they could increase their prices because they earned less. I believe that it is time for our politicians to make some laws trying to regulate this wild west. Otherwise I just have to say to all thinking about visiting Denmark.
Stay away!!! We are no longer a democracy based on all these restrictions on free movement.
Boarding schools in Denmark
A dragon Boat belonging to a boarding school called “efterskole” in Danish capsized with 13 students and 2 teachers onboard. One teacher is missing. Several of the students ended up in coma. Of course the association of Efterskoler in Denmark came at once with a kind of damage-control promising that they would see to that all laws are upheld. They do know that our authorities have made the rules so tough that school and students are two things you cannot combine.
A simple canoe for two persons should according the rules have a lifeboat, GPS, radio, flares etc. It is impossible rules but we have experienced what they call civil disobedience. It is a fine word for breaking the laws.
Now a teacher is dead and it was pure luck that some of the student managed to swim to the shore in the icy waters before they passed out because the alternative had been all hands lost.
The worst part was that the parents didn’t know what they did sign their children up for. We are not talking troubled teens so it is not the normal case with parents with at-risk teenagers who wants to warehouse their children so they can get some peace. It is normal parents who think that parenting stops when you ship your child away. They do accept restriction on communication. I was shocked to learn that some schools don’t allow cell phones in the dorms and internet access the first month so the students are denied to reflect how the days have passed with their parents before they call it the day.
I didn’t know that you could find that kind of parents in Denmark. I am more than shocked.
I know that I have been too busy to maintain this blog this month. I hope that I can do better in March.
